Who we are and why we're here.
Sustainable production began with us. Over two decades ago, before organic, eco-friendly, and zero-waste products were trendy, we set the standard for leading a conscious lifestyle free from compromise. As pioneers in the industry we got our start making basic apparel better, ultimately aiding in the creation of the GOTS certification for organic cotton. Now, we’ve taken those same standards into the home. Every single step of our sourcing and production is third-party certified, making Under the Canopy the most sustainable home brand on the market.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of sustainability. For us, protecting the earth is an obligation, not a business model. That's why Under the Canopy adheres to six kinds of certifications that together prevent the use of harmful substances, reduce resource and energy waste and support worker welfare. So you can rest assured knowing that every purchase is truly making an impact.
Conscious without compromise
Sustainability is not our only defining factor. Through a vertically integrated supply chain and incredible design team, Under the Canopy strikes an unparalleled balance between price and style. Our mission is to make conscious consumption attractive and accessible to everyone.
From the farm to the corporate office, our materials and facilities are audited and approved each season for verified claims to the policies we uphold. Whether it is the prevention of pesticide sprays on cotton fields, or testing for toxins and carcinogens in dyes, each component of manufacturing is scrutinized and optimized to make the best quality product.
Fair Trade USA enables sustainable development and community empowerment by cultivating a more equitable global trade model that benefits farmers, workers, consumers, industry and the earth.
Ensures that the raw materials, manufacturing and distribution of Under the Canopy products are free from harmful toxic substances such as heavy metals, GMOs, toxins and carcinogens.
Zero harmful substances make their way into our customers’ homes through elimination of the chemicals and toxins commonly used in textile production.
C2C certified products are assessed across five quality categories: material health and reutilization, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship and social fairness. Individual products receive achievement in each category from bronze to platinum just like the Olympics.
When organic fibers are not an option in sourcing, we opt for recycled materials to maintain a holistic offering of sustainability in every single product. Each comforter and pillow is filled with RCS certified polyester recycled from post-consumer plastic bottles.
We pledge to support the ethical manufacturing and use of products that preserve forests across the globe.
